I carried a bluetooth GPS, mobile phone for accessing it and two USB solar panels to make sure I always had a charge. About 6 miles after starting I took the phone out to see how things were going only to find it had died! Nothing could bring it to life and I ended up getting a replacement after I'd got home, far too late obviously. That was the second cause of pain. I did Lon Las Cymru the other year and similarly, it hurt (a lot), and similarly, I haven't stopped talking about it since. And I didn't take my GPS, sadly.
